We’re looking for an Organisational Development Mentor who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 7 months. 

  • This assignment seeks to enhance GMIT's overall HR systems and policies. 
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a tertiary qualification in HR Management/Development or in a related field and a minimum of 10 years experience in this field with ideally some experience in the Pacific.
  • As a volunteer, you will support to advance HR digitalization and promote a positive workplace culture.

About the Partner Organisation 

The German-Mongolian Institute for Resources and Technology (GMIT) was established in 2013 through a bilateral agreement between the Mongolian and German governments. It is a state-owned university committed to delivering high-quality engineering education that prepares students for international careers. All Bachelor’s programs are taught in English by a diverse, international faculty, with a curriculum that emphasizes a strong foundation in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry. Students can pursue Bachelor of Science degrees in various fields. GMIT is seeking the support of an experienced Australian volunteer to contribute to the ongoing development and modernization of its HR function. The volunteer will play a key role in reviewing and updating HR policies to ensure alignment with both Mongolian labour laws and international best practices. In addition, the role will involve drafting new policies in key areas such as recruitment, performance management, and human resource development.

There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.

The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$ 1790per month, the allowance for the remote phase is AUD$ 79per month.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  
  • First Aid Certificate is required.
