Health care and insurance cover for in-country volunteers

The Australian Volunteers Program partners with a number of organisations to provide health care and cover to volunteers completing their assignment in-country:

  • International SOS for emergency expatriate medical assistance during your assignment
  • Corporate Services Network for medical and travel claims in relation to the insurance policy

The insurance policy provides coverage from the time you leave for assignment until the end of your assignment, including when on approved travel while on assignment.

All in-country volunteers are required to have an up-to-date COVID-19 vaccination prior to deployment unless contraindicated for medical reasons. Volunteers are also required to adhere to current COVID-19 protocols are in place in the country in which they are volunteering.
