Why hybrid volunteering

Through hybrid volunteering, your assignment responds to a partners needs while in Australia and on the ground in-country.

The Australian Volunteers Program’s hybrid volunteering initiative is partnering volunteers with organisations across the Pacific, Asia, and Africa to help them achieve their development goals.

Hybrid assignments are tailored to fit the needs of our partner organisations, and directly respond to the needs and capacity of their staff. Hybrid volunteers will complete both an in-country phase and a remote phase for their assignment. The length and order of each of these phases can be found in the assignment description.

Both volunteers and partner organisations receive training, support from dedicated teams in each country, and appropriate allowances for each phase of their assignment.
