Health Security Corps

Volunteer to support the prevention, detection and response to infectious disease threats in our region.

Building resilient communities across our region

Australians have a lot to offer when it comes to public health expertise. We can play a significant role in the global effort to reduce the risk of global infectious disease outbreaks.

Our partner organisations across the region are designing a selection of volunteer assignments that form part of the Australian Government’s Health Security Initiative for the Indo-Pacific region. Collectively, these assignments form the Health Security Corps. Health Security Corps assignments aim to build the capacity of governments, research bodies and community groups working to improve public health outcomes.

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's Indo-Pacific Centre for Health Security work closely with Health Security Corps volunteers.

We are looking for volunteers with a range of skills including technical laboratory work, field epidemiology, public communication and community education.
