We’re looking for a Visiting Adjunct Scholar in Wildlife Management who can live and volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of twelve (12) months in Nepal.
- This assignment seeks support to strengthen The Institute of Forestry (IOF) through international research, publications, teaching, partnerships and curriculum development in wildlife management and biodiversity conservation.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a master’s degree in Wildfire Science, Forestry or professional qualification of a commensurate or higher level. Minimum five (5) years of experience in university-based research and design of teaching materials.
- You will be working alongside faculty members and students.
- Participate in delivering teaching in coordination with the faculty team, will be based in Hetauda-Campus, Makwanpur (may require travel to Pokhara and Kathmandu campuses)
- Provide support in international collaboration and research partnerships, grant applications, student research, and institutional strategies in wildlife management and biodiversity conservation.
About the partner organisation
- The Institute of Forestry (IOF), established in 1947 as the Nepal Forestry Institute, became part of Tribhuvan University in 1972 and now operates campuses in Kathmandu, Hetauda, and Pokhara.
- IOF aims to become a Centre of Excellence in Forestry and Natural Resource Management (NRM). Its key activities include higher education, research, extension, and knowledge-sharing in forestry, wildlife, and NRM.
- The partner needs a volunteer to bring international expertise to strengthen teaching, research in wildlife management and biodiversity, and academic development, also support student supervision, grant writing, and international partnerships.

There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.
The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$ 1705 per month, the allowance for the remote phase is AUD$ 79 per month.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens.
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
- Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
