Visiting Adjunct scholar in Forest Management

We’re looking for a Visiting Adjunct Scholar - Forest Management who can live and volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of twelve (12) months. 

• This assignment seeks support to strengthen The Institute of Forestry (IOF) through international research, publications, teaching, partnerships, and curriculum development.
• To be considered for this role, you’ll need a master’s degree in forestry or Natural Resource Management (NRM) or Wildfire Management or professional qualification of a commensurate or higher level.  Minimum five (5) years of experience in university-based research and design of teaching materials.
• You will be working alongside faculty members and students.
• Participate in delivering teaching in coordination with the faculty team (may require travel to Pokhara and Hetauda campuses)
• Provide support in international collaboration and research partnerships, grant applications, student research, and institutional strategies in forest management.

About the partner organisation 

• The Institute of Forestry (IOF), established in 1947 as the Nepal Forestry Institute, became part of Tribhuvan University in 1972 and now operates campuses in Kathmandu, Hetauda, and Pokhara.
• IOF aims to become a Centre of Excellence in Forestry and Natural Resource Management (NRM). Its key activities include higher education, research, extension, and knowledge-sharing in forestry, wildlife, and NRM.
• The partner needs a volunteer to bring international expertise to strengthen teaching, research, and academic development for forest management, also support student supervision, grant writing, and international partnerships.
