We’re looking for a Technical Broadcast Specialist and Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Vanuatu

  • This assignment seeks to upgrade and modernise broadcasting infrastructure to improve reliability and efficiency, strengthen emergency broadcasting capabilities, build local technical capacity, and enhance broadcasting infrastructure and technical capacity
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Diploma or Degree in Broadcast Engineering Electronics, Telecommunications, or related technical fields
  • You will be working alongside the Head of the Technical Division and staff of VBTC in completing the assignment

About the Partner Organisation

Vanuatu Broadcasting and Television Corporation is the nation's public service broadcaster, providing news, information, emergency updates, and entertainment across the country. Besides three radio stations including Radio Vanuatu, Paradise FM 98, and Femme Pawa 99 FM, it also operated a TV station as well as online platforms. It is primarily located in Port Vila but has presence on Santo and Tanna. Vanuatu has limited access to specialized broadcast technicians, particularly those with experience in modern broadcasting technologies. While VBTC has skilled personnel, the technical expertise required for infrastructure upgrades and long-term sustainability is not readily available locally. A volunteer with international experience can bring new knowledge, best practices, and innovative solutions to support VBTC’s mission.
