We're looking for a Speech Pathologist who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 12 months.
- This assignment seeks to provide technical guidance, build staff capacity, and support assessment, intervention planning, and communication strategies for home and classroom settings.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a bachelor’s degree or higher in Speech Pathology, at least two years of experience as a Speech Pathologist, and experience working with neurodevelopmental disabilities, particularly Autism.
- You will be work alongside members of AutismCare Nepal Society to support children with neurodevelopmental disabilities, particularly Autism.
- As a volunteer, you will support develop and model culturally appropriate communication supports, including visual aids, simple-language materials, and parent guidance tools.
About the Partner Organisation
- AutismCare Nepal Society (ACNS) is a non-profit organisation based in Lalitpur, Nepal.
- ACNS promotes inclusive education, early identification, intervention, and social acceptance of people with autism and other developmental disabilities. It works with families, schools, health professionals, and communities to improve access to education, therapy, awareness, and support.
- There is a shortage of qualified speech pathologists and therapists in Nepal, particularly for children with autism and developmental disabilities. A skilled volunteer can strengthen ACNS’s capacity in communication support, education, therapy, and family services, improving children’s learning, behaviour, and social participation.

There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.
The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$1705 per month, the allowance for the remote phase is AUD$ 79 per month.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens.
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
- Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
