We’re looking for a Project Development Officer (Education & Training) and Clinical Mentorwho can live and volunteer for 6 months in Vanuatu. 


  • This assignment seeks to 1) complete the clinical and educational content for ProMedical's training pathway (i.e., Diploma of Prehospital Emergency Care and its exit pathways) leaving a sustainable in-house capacity for ongoing delivery of the programme.i.e., Diploma of Prehospital Emergency Care and its exit pathways) leaving a sustainable in-house capacity for ongoing delivery of the programme. 2) provide clinical mentorship and clinical instruction, assisting ProMedical's local paramedical staff through their clinical progression, as per their logbooks and individual educational objectives.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Bachelor of Paramedicine (or equivalent), current Paramedic Registration with AHPRA, a minimum of 3 years experience with jurisdictional emergency ambulance service (or equivalent), experience as a trainer, educator, clinical instructor or preceptor, experience working in developing, low-resource, or austere health systems
  • You will be working alongside and small but dedicated paramedics and support staff in achieving the assignment objectives 


About the partner organisation 

ProMedical is a small, non-governmental organisation, running emergency ambulance, aeromedical retrieval, and health system capacity building services in Vanuatu.


ProMedical is the primary provider of prehospital emergency care in Vanuatu, operating under a memorandum of understanding with the Ministry of Health and essentially functioning as the defacto public service.


Together with its sister organisation, ProRescue, the aim is to provide a high-quality emergency care and rescue service to the people of Vanuatu and its guests, whilst assisting in the wider development of Vanuatu's health system and its clinicians.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
