We’re looking for a Monitoring and Evaluation Support Officer who can live and volunteer for 12 to 16 months in Vanuatu  


·      This assignment seeks to strengthen the implementation and the integration of DARD’s M&E system at national and provincial levels, improve the quality, consistency, and use of M&E data for planning and performance management, and foster a learning culture within DARD by promoting evidence-based reflection and decision-making. 

·      To be considered for this role, you’ll need a tertiary qualification in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Agriculture, Public Policy or a related field.

·      You will be working alongside the Director together with the Manager Planning and other relevant staff of the department.



About the Partner Organisation 

The Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD) is a key agency with the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry and Biosecurity (MALFB) in Vanuatu. DARD is responsible for leading the development and implementation of national agriculture policies, programs, and services aimed at enhancing food security, supporting rural livelihoods, and driving sustainable economic growth. With a presence across all six provinces, DARD works closely with farmers, communities, development partners, and other government agencies to improve agricultural productivity, promote climate resilience, and support decentralized service delivery. The department plays a central role in coordinating sector-wide planning, extension services, market development, and agriculture innovation in line with the national development priorities.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
