We’re looking for an Emergency Medical Mentor who can live and volunteer for Six months in Nepal.
- This assignment seeks to address the gap in high-altitude emergency care by bringing an experienced Australian volunteer to lead training and improve patient care for local communities, residents, and tourists in the rural municipality.
- To be considered for this role, you will need to be a licensed healthcare professional in emergency or general medicine with experience managing life-threatening emergencies and working in high-altitude or mountainous environments.
- You will be working alongside KPLRM health unit staff, health institutions, and health workers to provide emergency care training and strengthen emergency care skills, particularly in high-altitude areas.
About the Partner Organisation
- Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Rural Municipality (KPLRM) is a local government body in Chaurikharka near Lukla in Solukhumbu District, home to Sagarmatha (Mt. Everest) and the Sherpa community.
- The rural municipality works to meet residents’ daily needs by improving services, infrastructure, sustainable development, disaster preparedness, tourism, and health care for both locals and visiting tourists.
- Remote villages lack advanced medical care, so the Rural Municipality seeks experts to train local health workers in life-saving emergency care.
