We’re looking for a Broadcast Content Strategist and Trainerwho can live and volunteer for 12 months in Vanuatu


  • This assignment seeks to strengthen emergency broadcasting by optimising Radio Vanuatu crisis communication strategies, enhance digital media podcasting, improve inclusive programming, and build long-term operations capacity and sustainability. 
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Degree or Certificate in Broadcasting, Journalism, Media Production, or Communication. It requires a strong understanding of digital media platforms, including podcasting production and multimedia storytelling, experience in broadcasting operations, and ability to develop and implement emergency communication protocols for crisis situations
  • You will be working alongside staff members of VBTC radio team and management team including the CEO 

About the Partner Organisation 

Vanuatu Broadcasting and Television Corporation is the nation's public service broadcaster, providing news, information, emergency updates, and entertainment across the country. Besides three radio stations including Radio Vanuatu, Paradise FM 98, and Femme Pawa 99 FM, it also operated a TV station as well as online platforms. It is primarily located in Port Vila but has presence on Santo and Tanna. VBTC requires some one with international experience in broadcasting and digital media and podcasting bringing in fresh and specialist perspectives to strengthening local capacities and support in the enhancement of operations and content strategies. This credential is not readily available locally.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
