We’re looking for an AFL Development Officer who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Vanuatu. 


  • This assignment seeks to strengthen AFL Vanuatu staff and volunteers in delivering the umpiring and coaching training programs, support in the delivery competitions, and support them with long-term plan and delivery of AFL programs 
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need to successfully complete year 10 education, computer and social media literate, and must have a strong knowledge on all aspects of AFL football, and experience as an umpire at any level
  • You will be working alongside AFL Vanuatu Development Officers, Volunteer Coaches, Umpires and players. 


About the Partner Organisation 

AFL Vanuatu was established to develop and administer the growth of Australian Rules football in Vanuatu. Its programs are national with the main office in Port Vila. The key objective is to foster the growth of Australian Rules football throughout Vanuatu in order to maximize participation and enjoyment for supporters and players of all ages. They work with communities, schools and competitions that cover ages 5 to 50+ and with a strong emphasis on the inclusion and development of females in the sport , promoting healthy lifestyle and sports pathway for potential high performed individuals. The credential in for this role in this particular sport discipline is lacking locally.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
