Health care & insurance cover for volunteers

Understand the support provided to ensure you stay safe and healthy while on assignment.

Two women sit in the back of an ambulance, they are paramedics wearing the uniform. They are smiling to the camera and a medic bag lays open between them.

The Australian Volunteers Program partners with a number of organisations to provide health care and insurance cover to volunteers and Approved Accompanying Dependents completing their assignment in-country:

  • International SOS for 24/7 expatriate medical and security assistance during your assignment
  • Corporate Services Network for medical and travel claims in relation to the insurance policy
  • Response Psychological Services for 24/7 counselling and psychological services

The insurance policy provides coverage from the time you leave for assignment until the end of your assignment, including when on approved travel while on assignment.

Refer to details of policy coverage in the Australian Volunteers Guidebook.
