We’re looking for a Youth Leadership and Engagement Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Port Moresby, National Capital District, Papua New Guinea.

  • This assignment seeks to strengthen YPOMCCI’s leadership and organisational capacity
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a tertiary qualification in Business, Management, or a related field
  • As a volunteer, you will provide guidance on planning, promotion, and evaluation of events and activities to ensure impact and sustainability.

About the Partner Organisation

The Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry (POMCCI) is the leading voice of the private sector in Papua New Guinea’s capital city. As a not-for-profit, member-based organisation, we represent a wide cross-section of businesses, ranging from micro and small enterprises to large corporations across key industries and sectors.

Our aim is to strengthen the business environment in Port Moresby by promoting and protecting the interests of our members. We work closely with government agencies, development partners, investors, and the wider business community to advocate for policy reform, provide business support services, and create opportunities for networking and professional growth. We also support the Young Port Moresby Chamber of Commerce and Industry (YPOMCCI), which empowers young professionals and entrepreneurs to play a meaningful role in the economy.

An Australian volunteer will mentor the YPOMCCI committee and assist in designing youth-focused programs, events, and engagement strategies. This role requires specialized skills in leadership development, strategic planning, and program design, which are not readily available locally. The volunteer’s expertise will enable young leaders to implement initiatives that build organisational capacity, strengthen governance, and create meaningful opportunities for youth participation in business.
