We’re looking for a Youth Development Mentor who can volunteer in a hybrid role both in-country for 6 months then remotely (online) for 1 month in the Federated States of Micronesia.
- This assignment seeks to assist the Division of Youth Services to implement youth initiatives and workshops aimed at building leadership, communication, and decision-making skills in youth.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a University Degree and experience in youth and/or social services related work.
- As a volunteer, you will support the Division of Youth Services by advancing youth programs across the State of Yap.
About the Partner Organisation
The partner organization is the Division of Youth Services; a division under the Department of Youth and Civic Affairs within the State of Yap government in the Federated States of Micronesia. The Divisions' focus is to engage with youth by promoting youth initiatives and recreation events. They currently work in three areas; Youth projects, Programs and events. Through these areas they will engage youth to participate in projects like the beautification of the island, exchange programs to other countries, awareness of healthy lifestyles, education and personal development information.
The volunteer would support the local team with a valuable opportunity to learn new approaches for enhancing youth initiatives. The aim would be to empower the youth to then take on active roles within their communities.
