We’re looking for a Water Safety and Rescue Training Officer who can live and volunteer for 6 months in the Philippines.

  • This assignment seeks to strengthen community capacity in swift water rescue, lifeguarding, and emergency medical response through training, mentorship, and skills transfer.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a degree or certification in Lifesaving, EMT, or Health Sciences, instructor-level accreditation in lifeguarding, rescue, or water safety, and experience in delivering community-based training.
  • As a volunteer, you will support the development of localised training modules, hands-on workshops, coaching of local responders, and public awareness initiatives.

About the Partner Organisation

The Provincial Government Unit of Antique serves the entire province in Western Visayas, Philippines, comprising 18 municipalities along coastal and inland areas of Panay Island. The Office of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (OPDRRMO) of Antique leads the province’s disaster preparedness, response, and mitigation efforts, working closely with communities, government agencies, NGOs, and international partners. The partner organisation is seeking a volunteer due to a gap in advanced technical rescue and instructional skills in water safety and emergency response, aiming to enhance lifesaving capacity in flood-prone and coastal communities.
