We’re looking for a Veterinary Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Samoa.


  • This assignment seeks to support the companion animal population, including free roaming dogs, and improve the health and welfare of companion animals in Samoa by providing veterinary care, community engagement and education.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need Bachelor’s degree in veterinary science/ medicine
  • You will be working alongside senior vets and other staff members

About the Partner Organisation 

Animal Protection Samoa was established in 1994 in response to a lack of veterinary services for domestic animals in Samoa. Our Mission - Provide humane care and services to the domestic pet and stray animal population of Samoa

APS is a not-for-profit incorporated society, under Samoa's Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Labour and is governed by a board of ten dedicated volunteers.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
