About the Partner Organisation
The National Environmental Licensing Authority (ANLA IP) serves as Timor-Leste’s primary governmental agency responsible for environmental licensing and regulatory oversight. Its mandate is centered on ensuring that development projects comply with environmental standards, promoting sustainable growth while safeguarding natural ecosystems and public health; Project Evaluation, Issuance of Environmental Licenses, Regulatory Monitoring and Policy Implementation. With its vision, ANLA IP aspires to be a trusted public authority, guaranteeing sustainable environmental development in Timor-Leste. Through efficient environmental licensing, ANLA IP ensures that development projects are both environmentally responsible and publicly accountable. And committed to securing effective environmental policies and regulations in licensing processes with transparency, efficiency, balance, and sustainability. ANLA IP priorities professionalism and ethical execution of tasks, ensuring decisions are made in the public interest, equitable and transparent governance, delivering services that meet the collective environmental needs of Timor-Leste, and strengthening institutional frameworks to advance environmental conservation and regulatory enforcement. Lack of technical support in-country, the presence of Australian Volunteers within ANLA IP could offer valuable technical support for various critical functions.
