We’re looking for a Strategic Communications & Digital Engagement Specialist who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 6 months. 

  • This assignment seeks to strengthen strategic and outcome-oriented communications for the PCII Communications Strategy.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a degree in communications, media, journalism, digital marketing, development studies, or other related field.
  • As a volunteer, you will support to strengthen partner capacity and sustainable communication practices.

About the partner organisation 

The Asia Foundation is an international nonprofit organisation working to solve the toughest social and economic challenges in Asia and the Pacific. Informed by more than 70 years of experience and deep local knowledge, we work with partners across more than 20 countries to improve lives and expand opportunities. The Ponlok Chomnes Program is seeking a Strategic Communications & Digital Engagement Specialist through the Australian Volunteers Program (AVP) to support the implementation of its 2026-2027 Communications Strategy. This assignment comes at an important stage of PCII. As the Program enters its final year, Ponlok Chomnes needs to communicate its outcomes, partner contributions, policy engagement results, and lessons that can support sustainability beyond the life of the program, emphasizing the importance of strategic communications and the need to move from activity-based visibility towards more outcome-oriented communication.

There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.

The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$ 2427 per month, the allowance for the remote phase is AUD$ 79 per month.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
