Bali Sport Foundation (BSF) is looking for a Sport Development Mentor - in particular for wheelchair rugby who can live and volunteer for 6 months in Kupang, Indonesia.


  • This assignment seeks to develop the wheelchair rugby programs and partnerships with sports federation, as well as supporting coaches on the development of high performance teams (women and men) for the Darwin Hottest 7s and Wheelchair Rugby for Asian Paragames
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a fundamental understanding of rugby or wheelchair rugby game and experience in rugby player development pathways.
  • You will be working alongside coaches, team members, and office's team to plan, organise, and deliver rugby activities.


About the Partner Organisation 

The main purpose of the organisation is to improve the lives of persons with disabilities in Indonesia by using the power of sport and play for development, health, and peace. The BSF was set up in 2009, focus on providing sporting opportunities for persons with disabilities. During the last 12 years of operation, BSF has been responsible to increase the number of disabled sports programs available in Indonesia to 16, whereas previously there were very few.


BSF works with numerous schools for children with disabilities to provide related support. BSF has held the Bali ParaGames for the last 10 years up to the COVID period and has introduced several new paralympic sports to Indonesia through the Bali ParaGames with focus on women athletes, including boccia ,blind judo, wheelchair fencing, disabled sailing, wheelchair rugby and women’s 3-on-3 wheelchair basketball.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
