We’re looking for a Speech Language Pathologist who can live and volunteer in‑country for 7 months in the Philippines.

  • This assignment seeks to strengthen functional and inclusive communication systems for learners with developmental and communication needs. The role focuses on improving assessment frameworks, classroom‑based communication supports, early identification processes, and staff capacity in evidence‑based speech and language practices.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a degree in Speech Language Pathology and experience working with children or young people with communication or developmental disabilities, including knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC).
  • As a volunteer, you will support systems strengthening, mentor teachers and therapists, develop sustainable communication tools and frameworks, and help embed communication‑supportive practices across classrooms and daily routines.

About the Partner Organisation

The Center for Excellence in Special Education (Stepping Stone) Foundation, Inc. is a non‑profit organisation based in Sucat, Parañaque City, Philippines.

Stepping Stone provides inclusive education and therapy services for children, adolescents, and young adults with autism, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, and communication challenges, working closely with families, educators, and community partners.

The organisation requires a volunteer due to limited access to specialised SLP expertise in inclusive communication systems, AAC, and organisational capacity building within community‑based, non‑profit settings. The volunteer will support sustainable improvements rather than replacing local professionals.
