We’re looking for a Social Inclusion and Protection Specialist who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of12 months.

  • This assignment seeks to develop and implement systems and frameworks to maintain Gender Equality, Disability, Social Inclusion, and Safeguarding (GEDSIS) across all World Vision PNG programs, ensuring inclusive and equitable participation at all levels.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Gender Studies, Social Inclusion, Community Development, Social Work, or a related social science field.
  • As a volunteer, you will support the Humanitarian and Development teams to design and co-deliver training and mentoring sessions on gender equality, disability inclusion, and safeguarding principles.

About the Partner Organisation

World Vision Papua New Guinea (WVPNG) is a Christian humanitarian and development organisation with its head office based in Port Moresby. It implements core area programs in the provinces of Madang, Morobe, Southern Highlands, and the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, while maintaining a presence in other provinces through partnerships and smaller-scale interventions.

WVPNG aims to improve the well-being of children, families, and communities by addressing the root causes of poverty and injustice. The organisation works closely with local communities, government agencies, faith-based groups, and international partners to deliver programs in water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), education, health, economic development, and disaster resilience. Its work is guided by Christian principles and a commitment to inclusion, accountability, and community empowerment.

Due to limited local technical expertise in Gender Equality, Disability, Social Inclusion, and Safeguarding (GEDSIS) the organisation’s current transition toward greater compliance and integration, this position cannot be filled locally. A volunteer with specialised experience will help establish systems and frameworks for GEDSIS implementation and monitoring, build staff capacity, strengthen safeguarding protocols, and promote “Do No Harm” principles across all programs.
