We’re looking for a Social Enterprise Mentor who can live and volunteer in Lesotho for 10 months.
- Provide support with specialised skills in business development and social enterprise management to work with LNFOD and its member organisations in establishing sustainable income generating initiatives.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need qualifications in Business Development, Social Enterprise Management, Finance, International Development, Communications, or a related field as well as proven experience in business development and financial planning and strong skills in social enterprise management.
- This assignment seeks to build organisational capacity in business planning, operational management, and strategic execution, ensuring that both LEFEDI and other social enterprise initiatives are more sustainable and scalable.
About the Partner Organisation
The Lesotho National Federation of Organisations of the Disabled (LNFOD), based in Maseru, is the national umbrella body representing organisations of persons with disabilities (PWDs) in Lesotho. It works to promote and advocate for the rights and inclusion of all PWDs throughout the country. LNFOD's core aim is to support the empowerment of its member organisations and the wider disability community through advocacy, capacity building, and programmatic interventions.
A key focus of this volunteer role is to support the establishment of LEFEDI, a LNFOD associated innovative social enterprise, designed to demonstrate that disabilities are not limitations but pathways to extraordinary success. The volunteer will mentor LNFOD staff and member organisations to develop and operationalise LEFEDI, helping to position it as a flagship initiative for economic empowerment, skills development, and social inclusion.
