We’re looking for a Resource Mobilisation Officer who can live and volunteer for 6 months in Tanzania.
- As a volunteer, with experience in social enterprise management, marketing, fundraising, and global networking you would support Umoja to bridge gaps in local staff capacity.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need qualifications and experience in marketing, business development, communications, or a related field as well as experience in online marketing, sales, or fundraising.
- You will be working alongside the team to ensure the long-term sustainability of Umoja's projects, bringing fresh perspectives and innovative strategies, contributing to a stronger, more impactful program focused on economic empowerment in Tanzania.
About the Partner Organisation
Umoja Tanzania, based in Arusha, was established in 2009 to address a need in the community to offer youth the opportunity and personal resources to complete education, gain meaningful employment and carve out a better existence. The organisation’s target group are vulnerable Tanzanian youth who lack other opportunities for education or employment.
This volunteer assignment offers an invaluable opportunity to enhance Umoja's social enterprise program by strengthening key areas such as the marketing strategy, partnerships, and financial sustainability. While the organisation places high importance on local engagement and the employment of local staff, an international volunteer will provide critical, specialised expertise that compliments existing capacity. The volunteer will be instrumental in connecting Umoja to broader international markets, donors, and NGOs, opening doors for resource mobilisation. Additionally, the volunteer will share their knowledge and skills with local staff, enhancing their capabilities in business development and branding.
