The Institute of Resource Governance and Social Change (IRGSC) is looking for a Research and Data Analyst who can live and volunteer for 6 months in Kupang, Indonesia.

  • This assignment seeks to Strengthen IRGSC’s capacity in designing and conducting mixed-method research.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, development studies, data science, or related field, and/or experience in both qualitative and quantitative research.
  • As a volunteer, you will support the development of ethical research protocols and community-based research approaches.

About the Partner Organisation 

IRGSC is a non-profit research and advocacy institute based in Indonesia, committed to advancing inclusive, evidence-based development. Since its establishment, IRGSC has worked at the intersection of governance, environmental justice, and social transformation, with a strong regional focus on Eastern Indonesia. IRGSC conducts rigorous field research, facilitates policy dialogues, and supports grassroots movements to promote sustainable resource management, good governance, and social equity. The institute works closely with local communities, civil society, and government stakeholders to produce knowledge that is both academically grounded and actionable.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements include a First Aid Certificate
