We’re looking for a Renewable Energy Education Mentor who can live and volunteer for 3 months in Mongolia.

  • This assignment seeks to improve the quality, relevance, and industry alignment of renewable energy training programs
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a degree or Diploma in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, or related field or Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician
  • As a volunteer, you will strengthen the capacity of TVET teachers in renewable energy technologies and modern teaching practices

About the Partner Organisation 

Darhan Polytechnic College is one of the oldest technical and vocational education institutions in Mongolia, located in Darkhan-Uul Province, with a history of more than 80 years. In 2024, three colleges in the province were merged and reorganized under the unified name Darhan Polytechnic College.T his assignment will support the Darkhan Polytechnic College to implement its newly developed renewable energy training program that started in September 2025 for the first year. The volunteer will work closely with local 2-3 teaching staff to strengthen the educational program, ensuring its relevance and effectiveness and contribute to enhancing the practical skills of both students and teachers, support hands-on fieldwork through a “learning by doing” approach, and ensure that students acquire up-to-date knowledge aligned with globally applied renewable energy technologies.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  
  • First Aid Certificate.
