We’re looking for a Renewable energy educational mentor who can live and volunteer for 3 months in Mongolia.

  • This assignment seeks the volunteer to enhance the quality and relevance of renewable energy curricula (solar, wind, hydro)
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need degree or diploma in Renewable Energy, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • As a volunteer, you will support to strengthen the capacity of teachers and trainers delivering renewable energy training

About the Partner Organisation

The Nalaikh Polytechnic College was established in 1954 as a Vocational and technical training center and has been operating for 70 year. The college has 2 departments: Education and Administrative departments. The Education Department consists of the General Academic, Vocational Department units and implements all educational activities. The administration and business units are working to ensure the full operation of the organisation's daily activities.

As of 2023, Mongolia has 3 wind farms, 9 solar farms, and small hydropower plants, accounting for 18.3% of the total installed capacity and only 9.6% of total electricity production. Which means that the action has to be accelerated if the ambition of 30% renewable energy share is to be reached in six years period. In relation to this challenge and response the College aims to provide training for skilled workers in the field of renewable energy, and we need the support of a qualified volunteer who has professional background with extensive knowledge and experience in the field of solar wind and hydro power.
