We’re looking for a Radio Broadcasting Technician Support who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Palau.
- As a volunteer, you will support the bureau's teams to maintain and troubleshoot broadcast transmission systems, particularly the transmitting equipment connected to radio antenna towers.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Diploma, Associate Diploma or higher in Broadcast Engineering, Electronics Technology, Telecommunications or related technical field.
- You will be working to help ensure a stable signal transmission, assist the team with equipment calibration and preventative maintenance, and offer technical support for live broadcasts and emergency communication.
About the partner organisation
The Division of Media & Information Services has one main office, the Eco Paradise FM Radio Station. There is a radio tower transmitter located in the hamlet of Meyuns in Koror state where the volunteer would be stationed.
This assignment is essential to support the communication mission of the Bureau of Archives & Media under the Ministry of State. The bureau is responsible for the managing official government media and ensuring the timely dissemination of the information from the Executive Branch to the public. Through radio broadcasts, live press conference coverage, and emergency updates, the office plays a vital role in maintaining government transparency and keeping communities informed across Palau. The role cannot be filled locally due to the limited availability of specialised technical expertise. By supporting the bureau's media team the volunteer will contribute to strengthening national communication capacity.
