We’re looking for a Radiation Oncology Medical Physics Mentor who canlive and volunteer for 3 weeks in Cambodia.

About the partner organisation

Luang Me Hospital provides essential oncology services with a particular focus on radiotherapy, serving patients from Phnom Penh and across the country. Luang Me Hospital aims to provide safe, effective and accessible cancer treatment to the Cambodian population, with a long-term vision of becoming a national centre of excellence. The multidisciplinary radiotherapy team at Luang Me Hospital consists of radiation oncology medical physicists (ROMPs), radiation therapy technologists (RTTs) and radiation oncologists. Luang Me Hospital is keen to take the next step towards delivering advanced techniques such as stereotactic radiotherapy and a key component of this will be to strengthen the dosimetry and QA program to an international standard. Collaboration with internationally qualified and experienced physicists is key to enhancing the skills and knowledge of Cambodia’s local physicists and ensuring the accuracy and safety of Luang Me’s radiation therapy program as they move towards more complex treatments. The volunteers will have the opportunity to work alongside a committed and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team. They will be able to develop their teaching and training skills and learn how to adapt their own knowledge to a resource-challenged environment.
