We’re looking for a Public Health and Governance Specialist who can live and volunteer for 12 months in the Philippines.


  • This assignment seeks to advance policy advocacy for the classification of Type 1 Diabetes as a disability by conducting public health policy analysis and stakeholder engagement.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a specialization in health policy, experience in national-level policy studies, and strong technical writing skills.
  • As a volunteer, you will support stakeholder consultations, policy mapping, public health systems research, and the development of a comprehensive advocacy report.

About the Partner Organization

Humanity & Inclusion (HI) is an international humanitarian organization based in Quezon City, Philippines. HI supports people with disabilities and vulnerable populations across the country through inclusive development, disaster risk reduction, and humanitarian aid programs.


HI is seeking a volunteer with public health and policy expertise to guide its advocacy efforts in classifying Type 1 Diabetes as a disability—a critical step requiring in-depth policy analysis and stakeholder engagement.

Requirements

  •   All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
  •   A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
  •   A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
