We’re looking for a Project Management Mentor in the Housing field, who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Kiribati.

  • This assignment seeks to strengthen investment planning and financial assessment of housing projects as well as reviewing the organisations' internal systems.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Bachelor degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Housing Management or a related field plus training or certification in project management and/or organisational development.
  • You will be working alongside the team to also build more partnerships, collaborations and gain donor support.

About the Partner Organisation 

The Kiribati Housing Corporation (KHC) is a State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) under the Kiribati Government, responsible for housing development, land management, and the provision of affordable and sustainable housing solutions on South Tarawa. KHC operates primarily in South Tarawa and works closely with government ministries, landowners, and the public to support national housing priorities.

KHC provide affordable, sustainable housing and loan schemes, building houses for civil servants, and supporting the national housing priorities. Their aim is to provide accessible, secure, and climate-resilient housing options that support social and economic development.

KHC requires the support of a volunteer to improve its investment planning, project evaluation, and business case development for new housing initiatives. A skilled adviser in the area of housing investment and development will support KHC to ensure that new housing and land development projects are financially viable, strategically prioritized, and properly supported by accurate data and analysis.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  
  • Additional requirements for this assignment include providing or attaining a First aid certificate.
