We’re looking for a Project Management Mentor, Eco-Tourism who can live and volunteer in Papua New Guinea for 6 months. 


  • This assignment will be training staff and volunteers in the skills, knowledge and attitude towards developing and sustaining Eco-Tourism projects. You will assist with the development of training and marketing materials.
  • To be considered for this role you'll need to have a Degree or equivalent in Natural Resource Management, minimum of 2 years' work experience in Project Management, particularly eco-tourism and or hospitality industry and a proven interest and passion for the tourism industry.
  • Provide support in gaining an understanding of working in a multi-cultural organization/environment.


 About the Partner Organization: 


Touching The Untouchables (TTU) is an NGO based in Goroka that brings community health education programs to rural villages and communities. TTU emphasises hygiene, sanitation, pre-natal and post-natal care in its programs contributing to improve health outcomes for children, women and men. The Vision of TTU is to empower individuals in using local knowledge and resources to develop holistically transformed communities that are conducive to self-reliance through training and mentoring.


From this assignment TTU envisions empowering their staff to mobilize a total of 3300 villages in sustaining positive behavior change in hygiene, sanitation, waste management, climate action, peace and harmony through Eco Tourism activities. This assignment will mentor and transfer skills, knowledge and attitude to TTU staff plus link and network TTU into the world of Eco-Tourism business with like-minded companies in Australia, New Zealand, Asia, Americas and Europe.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include obtaining First Aid Certificate.
