We’re looking for a Professional Development and Inclusive Education Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Laos.
About the Partner Organisation
Souphanouvong University (SU) is a national public university located in Luang Prabang Province, northern Laos. Established under Prime Minister’s Decree No. 169/PM in November 2003, SU began as the Luang Prabang Branch of the National University of Laos before becoming one of five public higher education institutions under the Ministry of Education and Sports. The university serves as both an academic and cultural center, offering programs across a wide range of disciplines to support national and regional development. This assignment is vital to the Faculty of Languages at Souphanouvong University as it directly supports the enhancement of teaching quality, academic capacity, and inclusive education practices. As the faculty continues to expand its programs and respond to the evolving needs of students and society, strengthening the professional skills of teaching staff is essential. Through workshops, mentoring, and co-teaching, the assignment will help lecturers adopt innovative and student-centred teaching methodologies that foster engagement and effective learning outcomes. In addition, the focus on academic writing, research skills, and English language proficiency will further equip staff to contribute to the university’s academic excellence. By promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in teaching and learning, the assignment also aligns with the university’s mission to provide accessible, high-quality education that values every learner’s potential.
