We’re looking for a Policy Writer and Governance Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Tonga.
- You will be working alongside a passionate team that aim to ensure there is effective governance in sport in Tonga.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Governance, or a related field and experience delivering training or coaching in policy/governance practices.
- As a volunteer, you will support capacity building of local staff to be able to continue this important work when they complete their assignment period.
About the Partner Organisation
TASANOC is based in Nuku'alofa, and is a non-governmental organisation, that is an umbrella for the country’s Sport National Federations. (NFs) It also functions as the official Games authority. Currently there are 41 NFs, representing both Olympic and non-Olympic sports. TASANOC’s mission is to develop, promote, support and protect the Olympic and sports movement in Tonga, in accordance with the Olympic Charter.
TASANOC is seeking a dedicated and experienced volunteer to support its strategic priorities through the development and refinement of governance frameworks and organizational policies. They would play a critical role in strengthening institutional integrity, ensuring compliance with regional and international standards, and improving transparency and accountability across the organisation and its member federations.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
Additional requirements for this assignment include attaining a First Aid Certificate.
