- Providing mentorship with medication therapy evaluations, hospital clinical rounds, patient counselling, training on clinical pharmacy standards and inventory management will provide valuable capacity strengthening to the team.
About the partner organisation
The Ministry of Health (MOH), based in Nuku’alofa, is the central government agency responsible for delivering preventive and curative healthcare, safeguarding public health, and managing hospital and community health services in Tonga.
The MOH aims to improve national health by providing quality, accessible and comprehensive care through disease prevention and curative services.
Currently, there are no local clinical pharmacists, therefore a volunteer can provide direct clinical support in a number of ways.
About the Australian Volunteers Program
The Australian Volunteers Program is an Australian government-funded initiative. We support partner organisations across the Pacific, Asia, and Africa to achieve locally led change.
