We’re looking for a Outdoor Education Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Samoa. 

  • This assignment seeks to assist SCS with the designing of appropriate outdoor education programmes 
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need and outdoor education degree
  • You will be working alongside the outdoor team

About the Partner Organisation 

SCS is managing conservation projects in a number of villages in both Upolu and Savaii islands, committing to environmental biodiversity conservation and conservation area management. We are also trying to build expertise and capacity in nature based tourism/outdoor activities and getting the public more interested and engaged in nature. This includes developing nature trials, installing signage and basic facilities and training tour guides in nature based tourism.

 

The volunteer will help SCS design outreach and communication programmes for the public with a focus on youth as well as developing and delivering technical training in tour guiding for SCS staff, rangers, and village tour guides and providing advice on appropriate nature tourism infrastructure needed for conservation sites.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
