We’re looking for an Organization Capacity Development Mentor Volunteer who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Sri Lanka.

  • This assignment seeks to strengthen the organisational capacity of the National Forum of Women with Disabilities (NFWD) in project development, fundraising, and communication to advance the empowerment and inclusion of women and girls with disabilities.
  • You will be working alongside NFWD’s management team, program staff, and women leaders with disabilities across Sri Lanka.
  • As a volunteer, you will support capacity building, proposal writing, documentation, mentoring, and communication to improve programme sustainability and impact.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a bachelor’s degree in Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Development, or a related field, with demonstrated experience in project development, documentation, or communications within the development or inclusion sector.

About the Partner Organisation

NFWD is a national non-governmental organisation based in Colombo, working across all provinces. NFWD advocates for the rights, leadership, and inclusion of women and girls with disabilities, working with government, civil society, and media to promote gender equality and disability-inclusive development.

NFWD is expanding its programs, including establishing a Day Care and Independent Living Centre, and requires strengthened capacity in proposal writing, donor engagement, project design, and communication. Advanced fundraising and documentation skills are limited locally, and a volunteer will provide mentoring and technical support to build sustainable internal capacity.
