We’re looking for an Organisational Development and Compliance Support Mentor who canvolunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 9 months.

  • This assignment seeks to support the Haku Male Development Program in establishing and enhancing internal control mechanisms to improve organisational compliance with partner requirements and ensure accountability in program implementation
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need degree in Community Development, Social Work, Public Administration, Monitoring & Evaluation, or a related field.
  • As a volunteer, you will support local staff in reviewing and identifying gaps in existing compliance and internal control processes through joint assessments.

About the Partner Organisation

Hako Women’s Collective (HWC) is a community-based, non-profit organisation located in the Haku area of Buka Island, in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea. Founded in June 2006 by Indigenous village women, HWC works across several communities in the Haku constituency to address social issues and promote inclusive, community-driven development.

HWC aims to empower women, men, youth, and families through holistic programs in education, health, peacebuilding, human rights awareness, and economic development. One of its key initiatives is the Haku Women’s Safe House or Haku Meri Seif Haus (opened in 2017) and the accompanying Male Development Program (HMDP), or Men’s Hub, which began collaborating with HWC in 2023. HMDP focuses on three major activities: (1) Male Advocacy Programs that deliver community-based education and develop case studies on social behaviours; (2) a Male Counselling Centre providing client services and school-based programs; and (3) Management and Administration, which oversees operations and is developing a robust monitoring, evaluation, and compliance system to strengthen the program’s impact.

A volunteer with expertise in monitoring and evaluation, compliance, and internal systems can play a key role in supporting the HMDP team. This technical expertise is not readily available locally due to capacity limitations in the rural setting and the specialised nature of the skills required. The volunteer will assist in finalising the program’s monitoring and compliance systems, enhance internal controls, and help improve reporting mechanisms for partners and stakeholders.
