We’re looking for an Organic Farming Mentor who can live and volunteer for 6 months in Sri Lanka


  • This assignment seeks to support the empowerment of women farmers by building their knowledge and skills in sustainable agriculture and agribusiness.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need at lest 5 years experience in the agriculture sector
  • As a volunteer, you will support the organizations capacity by training staff to strengthen their technical knowledge.


About the Partner Organisation 

MILKCOOP is a registered NGO based in Deniyaya, in the Matara District of Southern Sri Lanka.

MILKCOOP primarily works with disadvantaged Sinhala and Tamil women, supporting them in sustainable livelihood initiatives, particularly organic home gardening. While these women are engaged in income-generating activities, there is a need to further enhance their knowledge and skills to ensure they receive the maximum benefit from their efforts.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements include a First Aid Certificate
