We’re looking for a Occupational Therapist Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Samoa.
- This assignment seeks to enhance the clinical capacity of wheelchair assessors and allied health staff
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need Tertiary Qualification in Occupational Therapy
- You will be working alongside the mobility services unit
About the Partner Organisation
Clinical Support & Rehabilitative Services Division - Ministry of Health is a government service that includes Mobility Device Services Unit within the main hospital in Samoa. In the Mobility Device Services Unit in the Ministry of Health, we have two trained wheelchair assessors delivering clinical wheelchair assessments and services for inpatients, outpatients and out in the community as needed. Both have great experience for more than ten years and it is our hope to develop them professionally in the field of Occupational Therapy.
The volunteer OT will work alongside MDS and the Clinical Support and Rehabilitative Services Division to strengthen the quality and coordination of rehabilitation services, model best-practice OT roles, and build local capacity for sustainable service delivery.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
