We’re looking for a Nursing Workforce and Practice Scope Specialist who can live and volunteer for 12 months in the Solomons.
- Provide support to ensure clear role definitions, competencies and workforce requirements of nurses in order to successfully meet patient needs.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Nursing Administration, or Nurse Education and a minimum of 5 year's experience in nursing leadership, workforce planning and/or nursing education.
- You will be working alongside the management team to support quality delivery of health and medical services for the population of Solomon Islands.
About the Partner Organisation
The National Referral Hospital (NRH), based in Honiara, is the only tertiary-level hospital in Solomon Islands. NRH provides approximately 330 acute and subacute beds.
NRH is the focal point for all in-service training and skills development for nurses. NRH is wishing to have a structured approach to defining nursing-specific scope of practice with clear workloads, position descriptions, skills and competencies and workforce planning. This assignment will support NRH in reviewing and defining Scope of Practice with clear workflow and analysis for nurses at different levels of care in the hospital and the clinics.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
Additional requirements for this assignment include attaining a First Aid Certificate.
