We’re looking for a Museum Curatorwho can live and volunteer for 12 months in Fiji.


  • This assignment seeks to create 3 year exhibitions strategy including funding opportunities, alongside the Manager Collections
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need an Advanced Degree in relevant fields such as Arts, Admin or Exhibition Management, Musuem Stuies, etc.
  • You will be working alongside Manager Collections, the team and communities to develop revolving exhibitions and segment changes that the public will recognise as fresh, new and inspiring.

About the Partner Organisation 

The Fiji Museum is the national museum of Fiji. It preserves and showcases the cultural heritage of both Fiji's Indigenous inhabitants and other communiities that have settled here over the past 200 years. They have successfully opened aa large-scale exhibitions in the past to showcase the rich and diverse relationship that all of Fiji's people have in their communities. They have recently shifted their focus on community engagement and interaction and outreach.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include obtaining a First Aid Certificate as well as different formats of reference checks (details to be discussed upon selection).


Please note that the Program is temporarily unable to support Approved Accompanying Dependents (AADs) to Fiji until further notice.
