We’re looking for a Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning Mentor who can live and volunteer for 12 months in Port Moresby, National Capital District, Papua New Guinea.
- This assignment seeks to support World Vision PNG to improve the quality, consistency, and effectiveness of its MEAL systems and tools across all projects, ensuring alignment with organisational standards and donor requirements.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Statistics, or a related field.
- As a volunteer, you will support MEAL and program staff through on-the-job coaching and structured learning sessions focused on core MEAL competencies.
About the Partner Organisation
World Vision Papua New Guinea (WVPNG) is a child-focused, Christian humanitarian and development organisation and the leading independent NGO in Papua New Guinea. With operations in 12 of the country’s 22 provinces, WVPNG works through six field offices located in the National Capital District, Autonomous Region of Bougainville, Morobe, Madang, Southern Highlands, and Western Provinces, delivering programs in some of the nation’s most vulnerable and hard-to-reach communities.
WVPNG’s aim is to create lasting, positive change in the lives of children, families, and communities. The organisation works in close partnership with local communities, government at all levels, civil society organisations, faith-based groups, and the private sector to respond to humanitarian needs and address the root causes of poverty. Its programming focuses on health, education, livelihoods, disaster risk reduction, climate change adaptation, peacebuilding, and water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH).
A volunteer will support this assignment by providing specialised technical expertise, introducing global best practices, and mentoring staff in both technical and soft skills. Due to current local and internal capacity constraints, this level of advanced MEAL expertise is difficult to source locally. External support is therefore essential to strengthen systems, build staff confidence, and support long-term institutional learning.
