We’re looking for a Mobility Devices Technician Mentorwho can live and volunteer for 12 months in Samoa.

About the Partner Organisation

Clinical Support & Rehabilitative Services Division - Ministry of Health is a government service that includes Mobility Device Services Unit within the main hospital in Samoa. In the Mobility Device Services Unit in the Ministry of Health, we have one trained wheelchair technician delivering clinical wheelchair repairs and services for inpatients, outpatients and out in the community as needed.

Since its establishment in 2014, MDS has provided over 1,000 wheelchairs and over 500 other mobility devices to elderlies and persons with disabilities across Samoa. Repair and maintenance are of particularly high importance, as wheelchairs/other mobility devices are frequently used in challenging environmental conditions, including salty, sandy, and rough terrain, and access to repair services and spare parts can be limited.
