We’re looking for a Membership Growth, Diversity & Communications Mentor who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 12 months.
- This assignment seeks to support Boroko Rotary to understand its current membership profile and develop a practical and sustainable membership growth strategy, with particular attention to increasing female participation and engaging younger members.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a relevant qualification or demonstrated professional experience in communications, marketing, membership development, community engagement, organisational development or a related field.
- As a volunteer, you will support the development of activities and events that encourage meaningful participation by younger people and create opportunities for intergenerational mentoring between experienced Rotary members and emerging leaders.
About the partner organisation
Boroko Rotary Club is a Rotary club based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, working with its members, community partners and other Rotary organisations to support community development and charitable activities. The club forms part of the wider Rotary network and works through its members and leadership structures to mobilise resources, support community initiatives and strengthen relationships with other Rotary clubs and stakeholders.\
The organisation aims to strengthen its contribution to communities through effective volunteerism, membership engagement, responsible management of resources and delivery of community-focused initiatives. Effective governance, financial accountability and sustainable organisational systems are important to maintaining member confidence, supporting charitable activities and strengthening relationships with donors and partners.
The volunteer will work alongside club leaders and members to develop practical membership strategies, engagement processes, communication resources and digital tools. The focus will be on mentoring and strengthening the capacity of club members to manage these processes independently rather than undertaking recruitment or communications activities on behalf of the organisation.
