We’re looking for a Medical Physicist who canlive and volunteer for 3 months in Cambodia.

  • This assignment seeks to significantly enhance the clinical and technical capabilities of the in-house Medical Physics team in radiotherapy especially in External Beam Radiotherapy (EBRT)
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Master Degree in Medical Physics
  • As a volunteer, you will supporting to ensure the safe, efficient, and clinically effective integration of the newly installed Flexitron High-Dose-Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy system and the MR Simulation workflow

About the Partner Organisation 

Luang Mè Hospital is the first specialized cancer hospital in Cambodia. The hospital will serve as tertiary healthcare facilities for public to support the health policy of the royal government of Cambodia. We aim to provide a leading cancer care and management with comprehensive approach including radiation therapy, surgery, chemotherapy, advanced technology in micriobiology and pathology laboratory. In the long term vision we would like to transform our hospital into National Cancer Institute which would take all the advance modalities in term of medical treatment (additionally with nuclear medicine, interventional radiology etc) and become a referral research center and clinical practical guidelines center. The primary objective of this assignment is to significantly enhance the clinical and technical capabilities of the in-house Medical Physics team in radiotherapy. The focus will be on optimizing existing External Beam Radiotherapy (EBRT) operations and ensuring the safe, efficient, and clinically effective integration of the newly installed Flexitron High-Dose-Rate (HDR) Brachytherapy system and the MR Simulation workflow, by providing specialized operational support, protocol development, and hands-on training.

Requirements

  • All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV). 
  • A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.  
  • A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.  

Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
