We’re looking for a Legal Mentor - Commercial and International law who can live and volunteer for 12months in Samoa.
- This assignment seeks to assist with the managing of commercial and international law matters referred to the Office of the Attorney General ("OAG")
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a Bachelor of Laws Degree
- You will be working alongside junior lawyers and team members
About the Partner Organisation
The Office of the Attorney General Samoa is responsible for providing legal advice and representation to the Government of Samoa.
The OAG, headed by the Attorney General, is the principal legal advisor for the Government and its vision is "to ensure a safe and just society through the provision of quality and effective legal services".
Due to the shortage of lawyers in the workforce and the heavy workload of this office, we therefore request for an Australian volunteer with legal expertise to help support the office and can effectively manage the workload. Volunteers will be mentoring the local lawyers to help build their capacity to ensure the office vision is achieved. This is crucial as the AG'S Office plays a vital role in ensuring quality and effective legal services are always provided and within required timeframe.
About the Australian Volunteers Program
The Australian Volunteers Program is an Australian government-funded initiative. We support partner organisations across the Pacific, Asia, and Africa to achieve locally led change.
Volunteers are supported throughout their volunteer journey. We actively support and encourage people of all backgrounds and abilities to volunteer and aim to make the program as accessible and inclusive as possible. If you have accessibility requirements, please contact us to discuss how we can support you to volunteer with us - inclusion@australianvolunteers.com. Learn more about our commitment to inclusion.
