We’re looking for an International Academic Engagement Mentor who can volunteer in a hybrid role both remotely (online) and in-country for a total of 4 months.
- This assignment seeks to strengthen academic exchange and professional development through online collaboration with lecturers and students.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll need a postgraduate qualification (Master's degree or higher) in tourism, social work, education, social sciences or a related academic or professional field.
- As a volunteer, you will support to strengthen teaching, academic exchange and collaboration through direct engagement with lecturers, students and the Campus.
About the partner organisation
Vietnam Women's Academy Ho Chi Minh City Campus (VWAH) is a higher education institution of the Vietnam Women's Academy, located in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Campus contributes to education, academic development and research, with teaching and learning activities including tourism and social work-related fields.The volunteer will work alongside local academic staff to support selected teaching activities, research collaboration, specialist sessions and academic seminars for lecturers and students. This assignment will strengthen teaching, research and professional development through international academic engagement. It will provide additional opportunities for lecturers and students to access international knowledge, perspectives and professional practices, while supporting the Campus in developing a more connected and dynamic academic environment. The volunteer may also facilitate regular seminars for students in tourism and social work. The international volunteer contribution is intended to complement, rather than replace, local expertise by bringing perspectives, knowledge and professional experience from different academic and cultural contexts that are not readily available within the Campus.

There are two allowances for a hybrid assignment.
The allowance for the in-country phase is AUD$ 2,038 per month, the allowance for the remote phase is AUD$ 79 per month.

Requirements
- All applicants must be Australian citizens or holders of Permanent Residency Visa of Australia, or New Zealand residents in Australia with a Special Category Visa (SCV).
- A National Police Check must be completed during the application process.
- A Psychological Test is required for all volunteer assignments.
Additional requirements for this assignment include First Aid Certificate.
