We’re looking for an Information Technology Mentor who can live and volunteer in Kiribati for 12 months.

  • You will be working alongside our team and IT technician to Build the School's IT Technician's capacity.
  • To be considered for this role, you’ll need 5-10 years of experience in Microsoft and SQL server administration and supporting large-scale environments, including handling multiple servers, databases, and client machines.
  • As a volunteer, you will support the IT upgrade and be pivotal to the ongoing success of the organisation.

About the Partner Organisation

The Kiribati School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health Sciences, based in Tarawa consists of 3 Faculties being Nursing, Midwifery and Health Sciences. The School is under the Ministry of Health and Medical Services and strengthens the health system by offering skilled, compassionate and competent Nurses, Midwives and Health Professionals for health service delivery.

The School is operating with fully functional ICT Infrastructure supported by a large server. This offers options for blended and functional teaching and learning methodologies through Moodle and online platforms. As the organisation is about to shift to a larger server with multiple requirements, and there is currently only one IT Technician on staff, we would benefit from further training to build capacity and support the upgrade to address the School's ICT infrastructure needs.
